Now you can download each game for $3.99

The bright minds at the SEC have now made it possible for you to buy and download any game by any SEC team, for $3.99.

Star-divide

http://www.secdownloads.com/

$47.88 If you buy all 12 Ole Miss 2009 games. This sure beats the bazillion dollars Ole Miss is wanting for the DVD set of all 2009 games. And personally, there are some 2009 games I just don't want to relive so I sure wouldn't pay $299.00 plus $20 shipping that Ole Miss is asking for them. I downloaded 3 games.. Tennessee, Arkansas and LSU. And save the "but the money goes to Ole Miss!" song. I'm not contributing to Nutt's "ohhh Kansas wants me!" pay raise. Not through overpriced DVDs anyway.

And if you're pretty handy with computers, you should already know how to download these games - or any video for that matter - and put them on a DVD so you can watch them in your fav-o-rite lazy boy and not at your cramped computer. ;]

It also looks like eventually they will be adding other games from past seasons, including classics. They just haven't done it yet.

Welcome to the new world order, SEC. 'Bout time you caught up.

Looks like...

…I’m going to have to start me a “download jar,” next to the “vacation jar!”

Did you download

the videos to your computer? And I’m assuming you’re on a Mac?

Dump quick time

and get VLC Media player.. and yes, they have a Mac version. It’s free and open source too which is always great. I use it on Windows. I will play just about any video and music file in existence.

Didn't they sort of do this last year too?

And what type of video quality are we talking here?

by rpmjr on Dec 9, 2009 10:08 PM EST reply actions

Good quality for a computer

but all downloaded video degrades when burned to a DVD. I’ve burned all 3 games I bought, and watched 2 of them today (I will always count that Tennessee game as one of the most awesome ever). Not HD quality but not blury low power TV quality either.

Or, if you're clever....

You can watch them for free and then check out your temporary internet files folder and find the URL where the files themselves are saved, and VOILA!!, free download.

Umm, no

How are you going to watch them for free? You’re not. They only provide 30 second previews for free.

Not

OK

I see that now. Yes, you could go that route I guess but the video quality once on a DVD would be horrendous since those free-plays are bad quality in the first place.

I'd LOVE Classic Games!

I hope they get on that soon so I could see the “Mule Game”, the 1977 Ole Miss vs. Notre Dame game, and the 1983 Egg Bowl just to see the Immaculate Deflection one more time because nobody believes it happened unless they were there (I was).

Does anyone else remember when Fox SportsSouth used to play the SEC Rewind games (thinking it was some time around 1998)? My roommates and I used to watch them all the time when we were in school. Our theory was if we didn’t remember the scores of the games it was like watching a brand new ball game.

Agreed

I’ve been watching and buying classic games from the internet as I can find them. I bought the 1970 Ole Miss/Ark Sugar Bowl and the 1969 Ole Miss/Alabama games on DVD off of eBay and those have been the only 2 I’ve been able to find. I did talk to a guy in the Ole Miss media department who said they were in the process of doing whatever it is they need to do to start putting classic games to DVD and selling them but that was about a year ago. I’d love to know what the oldest game they have on tape is and be able to watch it.

I know they have the 1950-something Ole Miss vs. Maryland game.

You know, the one where the #2 Terrapins traveled down to Mississippi and got upended by an upstart Rebel squad? Definitely one of the biggest games in school history and certainly the biggest game that people rarely talk about.

by The Ghost of Jay Cutler on Dec 11, 2009 12:06 PM EST up reply actions

Now that's one

I’d love to see.
