Rebels in the Pros: Week 15
Because One Man To Beat is a bum, I challenged FotC 25 Days a Week to submit this week's Rebels in the Pros segment. He met the challenge, and he met it well.
Welcome to this special FanPost edition of Rebels in the Pros. This week two former Rebels really shined above the others. I'll just get right to the stats.
Patrick Willis (SF) continued to dismantle everyone in his path with 6 tackles (6 solo) against the Eagles.
Derrick Burgess led the Patriots with 6 tackles against the Bills. Among those was one sack as the NE defensive front took Buffalo's offensive line for six sacks on the day.
Ashlee Palmer (BUF) notched a pair of tackles against New England.
Eli Manning (if you need this, get off the internet now) destroyed Washington last night with 3 TDs, 0 INTs, and 268 yards (19/26). I only watched portions of the game, but Eli seemed to be throwing it wherever he wanted on the Redskins defense.
Despite that quality performance from lil' Manning, I would definitely pick Mike Wallace (PIT) for old balls Rebel of the Week. He got some serious love for his two huge catches (79 yards, 2 TDs) to put down the Packers in dramatic fashion. If you don’t already know about this, you must not have watched anything on ESPN recently. His performance has caused him to be nominated for Rookie of the Week yet again. Be a good Rebel, and go here to vote for him. Statistically speaking, I'm not sure he deserves the honor, but the nature of his two catches got him a lot of face time on SportsCenter so he definitely has a chance. ED: I think it's pretty neat to note that the very first and very last offensive plays Pittsburgh ran were touchdown passes to Wallace.

How is he not deserving of the honor, statistically speaking?
I’m pretty sure his stats, of the three offensive players honored with a nomination, would score the most points in a fantasy league. An INT return for a TD and someone recording a couple of sacks is impressive as a rookie, but one could argue that had Wallace not played in the game, the Steelers lose.
Get off your nay-saying high horse and come smell the sheep, Ghost of Old McDonald.
According to ESPN
He’s the only player since the merger to score on the first and last play from scrimmage.
