Power Poll after the jump.

Star-divide

Powerpoll2009logo_medium_medium

  1. ALABAMA - We really have got to stop letting SEC teams schedule November cupcakes.
  2. FLORIDA - Ditto.
  3. OLE MISS - Really, this is where we should have been all season.
  4. LSU - Ditto.
  5. KENTUCKY - Hell yeah I put Kentucky here.  I had to look at mutual opponents when determining who of Kentucky and Arkansas should be at number five.  Alabama and Florida beat both the Cats and the Hogs.  Auburn lost to both.  But Georgia did better the Hogs--in Fayetteville, no less--something which they couldn't do at home against Rich Brooks and co.
  6. ARKANSAS - A win over LSU puts Arkansas in Dallas on New Years Day.  Not bad for the 2nd year of the Bobby Petrino era.
  7. TENNESSEE - I almost wanted to put them as high as four and as low as nine.  This is a compromise.
  8. GEORGIA - I kinda wanted to rank them at nine, but it's hard to put them below...
  9. SOUTH CAROLINA - ...a gamecocks team which they did defeat.  Also, it's hard to move a team anywhere, let alone up, after a bye.
  10. AUBURN - Ditto.
  11. MISSISSIPPI STATE - No comment.  HATE WEEK.
  12. VANDERBILT - 0-8 in the SEC.  No, I haven't forgotten what that feels like.

Personally, I’m hoping that the LSU-OM game in November determines the division, and that you lose on some bullshit call, coaching blunder, or act of God. I don’t want to win the game outright like this year. I want to rob you. Seriously though, congrats on the title grumblegrumblegrumble and have a great summer and fall, until Jordan Jefferson gets turf toe in the middle of the Ole Miss game and Jarrett Lee’s miracle 4th down TD pass is called back for a phantom holding call. :)

Whiskey Wednesday said that after my Fanpost after LSU won the CWS.

Fun.

ugh

Too many “afters”…but you get my point.

Too bad Nutt was too stupid to realize who his go-to guy was earlier in the season.

Instead, he thoughtlessly used Dex as a reciever, rather than a premier RB.
He still hasn’t learned he can’t develope a passing game. Who would’ve known?
Is it really true he “saved” Dex for the later part of the season? Was this his stratigy in loses to SC and ‘Bama?
It’s really amazing that you now say 3rd is where you should have been all along.
“Should have been” is the story of Houton Nutt’s entire coaching career.
You might want to take note of where 2 of your loses are ranked.
Good job, Houston. Oh, and too bad you can’t have that “do-over” you were talking about.

You are so illogical.
Instead, he thoughtlessly used Dex as a reciever, rather than a premier RB.

Just as he did last season. And just as Coach O had done for the two years prior. It’s not like he pulled that out idea out his ass.

Is it really true he "saved" Dex for the later part of the season? Was this his stratigy in loses to SC and ‘Bama?

No. That’s a load of retarded fucking dogshit that someone just made up. Of course, fucking idiot-ass Arkansas fans like you took it and ran with it as if it were the Gospel.

It’s really amazing that you now say 3rd is where you should have been all along.

Is it not? Is this team clearly not the third best team in the conference? Is that not something folks were saying at the beginning of the season?

You might want to take note of where 2 of your loses are ranked.

We have three losses. Furthermore, who cares where they’re ranked. You know why people say you’re a moron? It’s because you keep ragging on a team and a coach who HAS NOT FUCKING LOST TO YOUR PISSANT FOOTBALL TEAM SINCE HE GOT HERE TWO YEARS AGO.

Wow, Ghost, I'm impressed

That was the greatest spewing of hate and vitriol that have ever seen from you. Keep it up.

Also....

It is difficult to “develop” a passing game when your QB does not have ANY faith in the line blocking for him. He traded a future hall of fame left tackle for a usless pile of humanity. For most of the season he had a very talented guard trying to play the other tackle. Last year, when our QB had a pocket, he was widley considered a top 5-10 pick. Now he is average. Get over us and worry about your shit-tastic team.

His famous 2 seasons of fame with other coaches recruits are almost up.

Are you guys ready for some REAL inconsistantsy? It’s coming.

Get the fuck out of here man. Until you beat us in football you have no right to talk shit here. If you beat us in any other sport feel free to talk as much as you like, but we beat your ass in football this year so you need to take your lame ass Houston nutt trash talk somewhere else.

Is this guy drunk?

He’s veering all over the sports highway. He’s overloaded with spelling errors that a fifth grader would catch. He defies logic in his argumen….wait…he does that anyway. Ignore that last item.

So what’s up? He’s GOTTA be drunk.

Considering the shape O left us at CB, O-Line, and LB

I’ll take my chances that Nutt will recruit a whole team and not just a Defensive Line.

Gonzo...

I understand that you never went to college and that your bitter that Arkansas won’t let people into their halls without more than a 5th grade education and a “Daddy says I’m the best kisser” mug but don’t hold it against us.

Seriously though. Your arguments are the same thing over and over.

Gonzo: Look out! Houston Dale is going to lose this game because he can’t coach!

Ole Miss wins

Gonzo: Just wait until [next game, next year, etc.]. Then you’ll see what us crazy Arkansas bastards meant!

Ole Miss wins again

Gonzo: It’ll happen!!! Love me, internet like my parents never did!!!

Of course, part of that was imagination on my own part. Until you have something constructive to bring to the table, please let your Arky bullshit just rot inside your own skull.

Please and thank you,

I was certain those 2 comments would bring out all the Nutty shitbirds again.

First of all, I was right on with my assessment of Nutt’s coaching ability to construct a formidable passing game early on.
Second, 30-17 means nothing more to me than watching a very young and talented team, lose to a very experienced team on the road, after a very physically and emotionally draining fight with the best damn team in the country. 9 fucking dropped passes will kill any SEC team on the road in this league. It certainly wasn’t because they tried to match up with a defense as dominating as what they faced in Tuscaloosa.
Third, Ghost, you dumb fucking moron, if Dex wasn’t saved, then that proves Nutt blew your only fucking chance at a legit SEC championship ring, by fucking around with the offense in a way only he understands and makes exscuses for, time, after time, after time.
And last, but not least, From the very first time I came onto this blog, I said Nutt’s first 2 years would be sucsessful before Ole Miss would start declining. I’ve seen no fucking evidence to steer me in another direction, escpecially since there’ll be 27 Sr.s graduating from Orgeron’s class.
As far as Ole Miss beating Arkansas 2 years in a row, give me fucking break. Everybody new that was supposed to happen, regardlees of the coaching situation.
Like you said in the poll comment, “Not bad for the 2nd year of the Petrino era”.
If Ole Miss beats the UofA in Fayetteville next season, then you can brag, until then, your so-called accomplishments over Arkansas are as over-rated as your fucking coach.

WOW

Over-obsessed much?

Seriously…Gonzo you need to get over it. You’ve had a new coach for, oh, almost two years, and you’re still preoccupied with Nutt. You’re like the guy who broke up with his girlfriend but can’t stop thinking of her because she gave the best head ever. Except, you know, what girl would blow you? Anyway, embrace Bobby Petrino, and maybe he’ll surprise you.

by Queen Hoka-Hotty-Toddy on Nov 25, 2009 10:56 AM EST up reply actions

Serious question Gonzo

What year did Houston Nutt cut you from the Arkansas football team on the first day of walk-on tryouts?

by unidentified black male on Nov 25, 2009 11:21 AM EST up reply actions

Every Ole Miss fan in their right mind

knows that we won’t be very good next year. It’s not just the fault of Houston Nutt. Ed Orgeron’s final recruiting class was a joke, and Nutt’s first one was as well. He couldn’t even put it together until after bowl season.

Every Arkansas fan in their right mind

knows we will be very good next year. Petrino gets all the credit too. Nutt’s last 2 recruiting classes were a joke, especially on defense.
Maybe that had something to do with Petrino having to start all over from scratch.
You can’t just continue to bring in projects on the O-line with a few RBs sprinkled in.
Nutt was good for maybe 1 decent WR every other year, and he NEVER brought in a QB that could pass worth a damn.

168/13

GonzoHog has commented on RCR 168 times. He has commented on Ark Expats (or whatever their SB Nation blog is called, I’ve never been to it b/c I’m not an Ark fan) 13 times. What does that say?
Also, why would one EXPECT Ole Miss to beat Arkansas these last two years when we went 0-8 in conference the year before?

by the DMc on Nov 25, 2009 11:42 AM EST reply actions

Expected?

What I expected to happen was Ole Miss having a very good shot at beating the UofA the first year, which they did, and possibly getting knocked off at home this year, which they didn’t.
Even you weren’t EXPECTING the Rebels to beat Arkansas in this years game, but like me, you knew it was pretty much 50-50, which has everything to do with Arkansas having a really good coach.

Right Juco?

Your scheduel (last in SEC strength) was set up perfectly for your so-called really good coach. What happened? Could it be that GonzoHog was right about Nutt when it comes to high expectations?
Really good coaches find ways to win championships according to when their talent peaks.
Other coaches find ways to blow those opportunities. Which coach do you guys have?

9-3

is one fewer win than I expected.

That’s fine with me.

Thanks for all of this high comedy.

I can really use it after last weekend.

With all the big to-do with all clock management, coaching hot seats, and ugly new uniform$ for the upcoming game, I neglected to offer y’all congrats on the game. Y’all outplayed us and truly deserved to win that one. Good luck Saturday, and be sure not to wear your good shoes, unless you happen to like the way tobacco juice accentuates the natural color.

Ordinarily, Gonzo, this would be the point that I would insult you...

But just you do a good enough job of that yourself. The insane rantings of a pathetic lunatic are better than anything I could come up with.

Screw it: Go fuck yourself with your Thanksgiving drumstick, dipshit!

by TheOnlySouthernMissRebelFan on Nov 25, 2009 8:25 PM EST via mobile reply actions

I've been hearing your boy might be considered for the LSU job if Miles is fired.

I wonder what kind of expectations they have in tigerland? Probably too much for Nutt.
