What is up with...
…all this NASCAR coverage? Guess they gotta show something for the State fans before our game starts.
seriously...
i mean, (so they say) winning a whatever nascar cup 4 years in a row is a big deal, but bring on the rebels
CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL YAKNAWIMEAN?
Yay.
Ghost, WW, and Rhodestar here. Keeping it classy with Old Crow and Coke… and probably asking for trouble in light of our resounding hangovers from yesterday.
Fuck LSU.
Sup men.
I hate I didn’t get a chance to stop by the tent yesterday. I had the folks in town and a band at our own tent and just never got to do any Grove floating.
Glad those of you who made the long drive were rewarded with a helluva win.
one foot in the grave, one foot on the pedal...
It was good to finally see LSU get a full dose of their own medicine.
They have been getting lucky as hell and getting away with Miles’ stupidity. Nice to see them get a swift kick to the balls after trying to steal one from us. I am disappointed we didn’t win by 2 touchdowns when we played well enough to win by a large margin.
The World Wide Leader only showing highlights from the last 3 minutes of the game is also getting under my skin a little, but not enough to matter.

Since when does the media ever give Ole Miss a fair shake?
It just comes with being a Rebel
by Newport Rebel on Nov 22, 2009 8:27 PM EST up reply actions
That is just part of being a Rebel.
We’re so afraid that we’re going to have our hearts broken.

I agree
I live and Pac 10 country now and all the Souther Cal people are like this sucks. I tell them you have no idea what pain is.

AK dresses better when he's going 'casual'.
some of his suits look a little Matrix-esque.
one foot in the grave, one foot on the pedal...
Yeah but his casual shirts dont have any "M" or "Ole Miss" markings on them
At least against K State he didn’t.

Really?!?
It looks like he’s rocking some jnco jeans.

This could be a long game.
All of the little things I have been complaining about in the first two games of this tournament are already proving to be costly.
You can’t dunk the ball when it’s still in the cylinder idiot.
CW has a sweet beard.
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 8:42 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Is there a name for that beard?
It is funky enough to have one.
The "Wannabe Baron Davis"
Chris Warren wishes he had as demanding of a name and presence as Baron Davis.
Whats better?
CW’s beard or Jaylon Snead’s stash?
by Newport Rebel on Nov 22, 2009 8:49 PM EST up reply actions
Jaylon’s ‘stache. That’s no contest.

It’ll be a really really nice weekend for Rebel sports if we win this.

It would be a good week indeed.

Fran Frachilla
What a joke of a coach….there’s a reason he became a commentator before establishing himself at a top school.
Is Cup favorite Dah-VEED not in the stands?
I have a hard time believing he would be a no-show at his only chance to see his former team in person.

Fuck I love college basketball.
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 8:49 PM EST via mobile reply actions
How can you play collegiate basketball and not know that you don’t save the ball under your own basket?
Haven’t we been kinda bad at the free throw line so far?
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 8:51 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Damn, I was thinking the same thing.
If you can shoot lights out from three and with people in your face, you should be able to make a free throw. It’s frustrating to see White miss so many.
It seems like the only reason this is a close game is we are marking the mistakes
by Newport Rebel on Nov 22, 2009 8:58 PM EST up reply actions
True Statement
We are really damn talented and have experience. What’s frustrating is that we make mistakes like Villanova’s team of freshmen.
Free throws and threes are the only things I can hit when I play. I don’t understand the difficulty of free throws with guys that play so much ball all the time.

Is it just me or does everyone call is Old Miss at all times? Maybe my hearing is going in my old age.

Shit. Take better shots. Pass the ball a bit. Don’t take forced shots that are going to draw the front of the iron. Come on guys.
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 9:14 PM EST via mobile reply actions
I can live with that 1st half.
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 9:18 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Our decision making is horrible.
Play smart and win this. It’s that simple.

Nervous about the 2nd half
We need some other players to step up and our stars need to start making shots. If Villanova’s coach calms them down and they get hot, we could be in trouble.
But if Andy can get our guys to make better decisions and play a little bit smarter we have this in the bag. Being down by 4 with the shit-tatastic play I saw is alright with me. Just correct it for the 2nd half.
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 9:28 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Wow
The first half was slop-tastic. Lots of loose balls flying around(that’s what she said).
We got to start knocking down some jump shots. If they aren’t falling, then get it to Holloway. I think we can beat this team, but my earlier prediction was WAYYYYY OFF. It’ll be amazing if a team breaks 80 at the rate they’ve been going.
If I predict it, there's an 50 percent chance it happens.

Nice NBA range 3, Chris Warren.

Meant to drop by the RCR tent Saturday but never made it
Anyone else ever just run out of time in the Grove when it’s a big game? Just seems there’s too much shit going on. Our tent population was tripled with all the guests we had. This post is random and I’m still hung over and hoarse.
So… George Mason’s band director had a pimp cup?
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 9:46 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Good play by Gaskins, we've blown 2 timeouts now on one possession unfortunately.
Only 2 left for the rest of the game now.

I imagine they were the only band to make the trip so they’ve been playing at every game.

Not getting the bounces right now.
we’ve got to play with more confidence than this.
one foot in the grave, one foot on the pedal...
Am I the only one who thinks CW makes bad choices
when he slashes? He takes too many contested shots and gets blocked often.
one foot in the grave, one foot on the pedal...
This is painful. How can we actually keep it close the whole game other than the last 5 minutes…?
by 7thYearJunior on Nov 22, 2009 10:21 PM EST via mobile reply actions
We could totally use one of those 10 point zone shots that they had on MTV’s Rock ‘n’ Jock basketball shows.

A request
could someone post the actual score from time to time during these game threads? not everyone has the luxury of watching the Rebels play. Thank you.
gaskins
What are some of your opinions on gaskins this year? How he will be used, expectations, etc. I wasn’t too impressed tonight.
by campbell4heisman on Nov 22, 2009 11:38 PM EST via mobile reply actions
I got an idea for a new statistic for us this year
How about WASL: weak ass shit in the lane. Unfortunately I thought of this late in the second half, so I will have to start keeping track from now own. We must of had 15-20 WASL tonight. AK will probably dedicate next week’s practice to “the extra pass”.
On a different note, I don’t agree with trying to turn Gaskins into the new Sowell. They all played bad against Nova. Gaskins is a good player. He’s not Chris Warren, or Terrico White, but not many players are.
Looking forward, I am most worried of our lack of a large presence under the basket. Buckner is not tall enough or experienced enough to be that guy yet. Cranston is a good bench player. Not a legitimate starter at the top 25 level. We don’t have a true center on the entire roster.
I don't either
Gaskins is alright, he’s just a little selfish.

Not Sowell
I wasn’t saying that, just thought he played pretty sloppy but you’re right- the whole team did, especially in 2nd half. I think it does make him look worse playing with Terrico and Warren. Good point, they make most players look a little off.
