Rebels beat Alabama State

The following are a few very quick thoughts about the game.

- Reggie Buckner had five blocks. That means that the true freshman has nine through two games. While I wasn't at the game, I talked with someone who was that said Buckner can defend the post from the free throw line.

- The guards are back...

- Our next matchup is against Indiana, and while the Hoosiers had a rough year last year, they should always be taken seriously. The Puerto Rico Tip-Off tips off at 4:00 on Thursday on ESPN2. It's a big game. Watch it if you're not busy with silly things like work.

- Trevor Gaskins is very good on defense. I don't remember that from his freshman season.

- We need to work on free throw shooting.

Free Throw Shooting Issues

Weren’t terrible, but it was mostly Reginald (I know), Murphy Holloway and Eniel Polynice (I think).

I don't think foul shooting will be a problem....

First of all, we are guard heavy, the majority of which are good foul shooters(Chris uncharacteristically missed one tonight); If we get a lead at the end of a game and they start to foul, we’ll take EP out and leave in Chris, Terrico, Trevor, and Zach who are all excellent with either Terrence Henry or Cranston; Even EP doesn’t look as lost as he has previously at the foul stripe;

I’m so impressed with the athleticism of Buckner…he really has a knack for timing his shot challenges and he can get up there. By SEC play, he’ll be starting.

Also impressed with Riley—not a bad late pickup..pretty athletic and looks like he’ll help out significantly down low with trash points and defense.

Guards will be fine. I just hope we have enough minutes to spread around.

I’m very anxious to see Terrence Henry….if he’s improved, our team could be considered “complete” or even “scary”;

Key to this year for us will be the rebounding of EP, Zach, and Terrico…if they can combine for 12-15 boards a night, we’ll be pretty darn good. If we depend on the “bigs” to rebound, we may be in trouble.

Logan Nutt

Played more competent ball. Very cool ally-oop.

Cranston is incredible at the 3-line.

Warren is not a electrifying as 2 years ago. Maybe it’s the even-ing out of brilliance…or it’s the destruction of leg muscles.

I’m drunk on a sunday night. sorry if this doesn’t make sense.
