Kudos to Rodney Scott

I wanted to drop a note to you all from the guys at Track'em Tigers.com. You may have heard by now that our defensive back Zac Etheridge is lost for the season following that scary neck injury he suffered Saturday. The sportsmanship shown by Rodney Scott is the best I've seen in my 40 years of life.  You all should be super proud to call him a Rebel. How Scott sensed that Etheridge was hurt and unable to move is unbelievable.

Watching him not move a muscle under Etheridge while medical personnel worked for an extended period of time still gives me goose bumps thinking about it. We can all learn a lesson from Rodney Scott. What a tremendous person. Here's what Auburn coach Gene Chizik said about him this afternoon...

"It was one of the most amazing things I've seen," Chizik said. "... I have to give that young man a lot of credit. I don't know how he knew, but he knew he couldn't move. He sat as still as the night, lying right underneath him. It was one of the most phenomenal things I've witnessed in doing this."

Mr. Scott

Rodney Scott is a hero. Thanks from the Auburn family for your sportsmanship and good common sense. Hope your career is an excellent one. God bless.

We're impressed with Rodney as well.

He’s worked his way from 5th to 2nd on our RB depth chart, and provides a burst that the others can’t. He showed great awareness and patience on that play.

Very classy of Chizik to acknowlege as much in the post-game comments. We’re all hoping for the best for Etheridge.

Auburn intelligence

“How Scott sensed that Etheridge was hurt and unable to move is unbelievable.”

Couldn’t he sense that Etheridge was unable to move when Etheridge, you know, didn’t move?

Is anything sacred to you?

That comment is just classless. I’m sure you make all Alabama fans proud. Just when I think I’ve read it all, then this nugget.

i posted a fanshot over at RBR

about the class Scott showed, hoping to see more behavior like this the rest of the season and less of the Brandon Spikes nonsense. Don’t let rtr be indicative of all bama fans, the majority of us acknowledge how mature and classy that kid is

Thanks Thomas...

I know he’s not indicative of all Bama fans.

I missed the game

because I was at UGA-UF, but this makes me proud to be a Rebel on weekend where I had little to cheer about. The SEC needs to do everything they can to bring some attention to Scott for showing great sportsmanship in the same weekend where the best player on it’s top team (and his coach) forgot what the word meant.

agreed

wish more reporters would highlight this story instead of calling out officials or talking about dirty, cheap plays
