I want to hate this guy.

But I like him. He’s a good fan. This will be me in 30-ish years, I imagine.

He got his Ricky on, for sure, but he didn’t really get his Ricky on (the furniture in his home remains intact, etc).

How could you dislike this guy

when even the cat indulges his Saturday craziness? The whole extended family has that ‘Uncle Joe is at it again’ vibe about them. He is not cussing or blaspheming and most important, he is not wrong. That call should never have gone to video replay.

His one crime was to be the ghost of football fans’ future.

Loved his daughter though. Not condenscending or even contradicting his decisions, it seems to have been more an issue of volume, somth’ to do with cotton and ‘take it down a notch, champ’.

If mah daughter will nod knowlingly when there is a discussion about the collegiate rule for fumbling to oneself in the endzone, I will consider myself a happy man.
