Walker Gets Start at LB

Allen Walker will get the start at Outside Linebacker on Saturday, and I'm excited about that. No disrespect to Lamar Brumfield, but everything I ever hear about Allen Walker says that he is a hitter. I think the coaches will ask him to get physical (physical) with Chris Nickson. Containing Nickson is something South Carolina couldn't do. Our strategy, I'm guessing, will be to make him hurt.

That is a good idea. I am pro that.

Get Greg Hardy to pressure him, and if the All-American doesn't get him, punish him with Walker.

I am pro that.

Walker is a little quicker according to Coach Nutt and has one sack on the year.

Perhaps they are planning to use the OLBs to run a contain on Nickson to prevent him from getting the corner or making something happen on busted plays.

Our DBs will be put to the test on Saturday as they will need to lock down on receivers to force Nickson to beat us with his legs.

One Man, I think you're on the right wavelength. Nickson is dangerous when he gets outside the pocket, when you contain the edges and force him to become a pocket passer...not so much. To me, that's the key to us winning Saturday.

One Man To Beat,

I agree with your assessment. DE play will be key to force him to stay in the middle of the field. If we can do that, I think we win. If we let him run out to the sidelines and chose to throw or run, we'll have a tough day.
