Tuesday Question

Generally, we are the "authors" of "content" around here - "here" being a blog and not a message board. Recognize, we do, that you've come here not to contribute, but to consume. Nevertheless, there is the sporadic occasion where, either for our benefit or for to exercise the thinkifiers of the masses, we ask you a question. Today's question is ...

Who wants to help me go to the Wake Forest game?

It'd be cheerio-sunshine-awesome were I powerful enough to convince you that my motives are totally pure and all I want is to provide all our readers with top-notch on-site reporting. But this is not a Disney movie, and I am not your magic cricket. I am a man who wants to watch football and promises to provide you with the kind of Ole Miss football coverage you will only find at The Cup - the kind that has obscenities. Otherwise, you can enjoy the football equivalent of the hunger strike - Associated Press, Rick Cleveland, and The Daily Mississippian - that menacingly awaits you on Sunday, September 7.

Don't start throwing money at your computer screen just yet (it doesn't work that way, Grandpa). I'm not asking for hand-outs. I'm asking for somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody that's up for the road trip (y'know, old chap, gas prices and all), a tip about your second cousin that lives fifteen minutes Winston-Salem, and/or any other helpful information.

I've got Carolina on my mind, baby!

There is a serious chance that I'll be on my way there.

I'll let you know when I get a little bit closer.

You should go and take some "media credentials" with you...you can get on the Ole Miss field with relative ease and you can't tell me that Wake Forest is ahead of us in the security department. I'd love to hear that RSC was on the field next to David Brandt.

My brother once worked for an extremeley local tv station in my hometown that was more or less just a hobby for the rich guy that owned it. No news. No real shows. They did happen to have an old camera that was rarely used. So, my brother, being an auburn fan, applied for media credentials for the Auburn-UGA game in '96. I never thought it would work. But, we went to the game, got our passes and walked right into the tunnel and onto the field. I got yelled at several times for standing in the wrong place but ended up watching an incredible game - the first OT game in SEC history - from the sidelines. Even watched the OT portion of the game standing next ot Ray Goff (I think he had been let go the year before). Good times. So, yeah. It's not that difficult to get press passes as far as I know.

I live in charlotte and my boys from mempho are coming this way. I've made fun of your on this website long enough... if you make it to the game with tickets, I'll cover the tailgate. Oh, bring some extra creds with you. JW
