Around SBN: 'You Just Have to Put Him to Sleep'

Ole Miss coverage from ESPN and Sports Illustrated

2 things:

-Sports Illustrated's Stewart Mandel says the Ole Miss Rebel football team has the fourth greatest potential for a turnaround season.

-ESPN's Chris Low released his rundown of the SEC West on his college football blog. Among other things, he predicts our Rebels to finish 5th in the West and ruminates over the likelihood of Bobby Petrino's hasty departure from Arkansas, à la Louisville and Atlanta.

Read, enjoy, opine, comment, criticize.

PS - I added the OleMissSports.com countdown timer to the blog's header last night. Your thoughts?

I like the timer. Pretty cool...

How did you do it?

The countdown is cool. That came from olemisssports.com? I'm impressed.

Haines,

I got the code from olemisssports.com. It's a flash based timer so I, being pretty inexperienced at this, had to shamelessly copy it.

What do y'all consider turning things around?

We've obviously hit the bottom of the damn barrel, and so if we go 6-6, is that turning things around? Or do we have to go further than that?

Personally I think we have to play to our utmost potential to really turn things around, win every game we're supposed to win and some that we shouldn't. This is when the program gets elevated to a new level.

Plus I want some damn YouTube videos of the Rebels dominating someone this season. The pre-game to the 2003 LSU game is fucking weak in 2008.

Sadly enough, yes if we go 6-6, and get a bid to the pizza bowl in birmingham, that will qualify as a "turnaround".
By the way, cue the Nutt stalkers, I'm surprised one hasn't posted on this thread already.

Considering Ole Miss is 1-14 (yes, 1-14) in the SEC West and 0-12 on the road in the SEC since 2005, I would consider 6-6 a welcome change. If Ole Miss can win 1 SEC road game and 2 SEC West games in 08 Nutt will accomplish something Ed Orgeron couldn't accomplish in 3seasons.
