A guy with whom I play tennis works with a lady whose son works with the baseball team who says Scott Bittle is definitely coming back in 2009.

Also, Captain Hook told me that Barack Obama is a secret Muslim. Spread the word!

I too have a source who claims Bittle's injury is somethign that occurs with nearly all baseball players, especially pitchers, and his not the serious version of it. All he has to do is strengthen some muscles around wear his tearing is occurring and he will be fine.

Yankees loss is our gain. My source also said that Bittle has stayed on campus all summer and has been working out/rehabbing it non stop.

I hate to say things like this, but we're going to be a much better ballclub next year than we were this year IF Bittle returns.

Reshirting David Goforth and Michael Park was huge for the future of our pitching rotation.

I noticed on the OM spirit message board Jeff (the most in-the-know of the baseball guys) said it's more of a 50/50 thing than first reported. Hope he comes back though. I don't think he'll miss out much as far as how quickly he advances his career, plus he could get his degree finished in case baseball doesn't work out. He'd probably improve his draft stock a good bit as well.
