UGA VI Passes

While this is not a Georgia blog, we would like to extend our condolences to our friends in Athens. Uga VI passed this weekend. In my opinion, Uga is one of the most iconic figures of the brand of deep South football we all love. Even Florida fans will concede this point. Cecelia Seiler, Uga's caretaker said that "he was a happy dog."

Looks pretty happy to me. And could you blame him? His Bulldogs are national title contendors! Furthermore, he was the winningest Uga of them all as the Georgia football team had an impressive 97-30 regular season record during his tenure as mascot. He was itchin for the start of football season just like every one of us. Our condolences, Georgia Bulldog faithful.

If Bobby Petrino hadn't up and left the state of Georgia, lil Uga would probably still be alive.

I'll have you know that a top-secret source tells me it is a FACT that UGA VI was poisoned.

It was either Petrino or Vick... and Vick is incarcerated.

I have to admit... and this is tough to admit.. but I always liked when any of the Uga's would snap at opposing players.

That was just funny. RIP big guy.

Whiskey Wednesday... I just noticed Gangs of New York is on Bravo right now.

I'm not going to be able to check it out, but Daniel Day-Lewis is frightening, so be sure and check some of it, if you guys get Bravo in the sticks down that way.

WWHDND

What would Houston Dale Nutt do?
Whatever the Christian thing to do is, do the exact opposite, and you'll be doing the work of Houston, and be in his good graces.

In this case, the good thing to do would be to offer condoleses. Houston would do the opposite, which is laugh. See how this works?

anonymous, I'm going to have to request that you move Uga's funeral in order to have you available for this Saturday's game @Vanderbilt.

I know, I know. It's a tough decision, real tough.

Macondawg at DawgSports-dot-com says it well: I'm sure that the message boards are probably brimming with Georgia Tech fans making tasteless jokes about UGA VI's passing. Don't pay them any attention. Any man who will tease another over the death of a dog is really no man at all.
